A handwritten note greeted me at the front door. My boyfriend isn’t much for leaving love letters, so I was both shocked and intrigued when I read the titillating instructions: “On the table you will find a blindfold to confound the senses; a pair of furry cuffs to assure resistance would be futile, and a flogging whip to make sure the futility was permanent. Put on the cuffs and blindfold and deliver the whip to me in the bedroom.
